UvA-BiTS Symposium, 20 and 21 April 2016

April 21

You are invited to attend presentations on studies carried out with the UvA Bird Tracking System on Thursday, 21 April 2016. This day is open to anyone who is interested in bird tracking research or movement ecology. Researchers will share their exciting studies on migration, foraging behaviour, effects of the environment on behaviour, habitat use and conservation. Results will show clear trends and large differences between and within species.

There are nine oral presentations spread over three sessions. The 2nd session “Meet&Greet” consists of several short presentations, a number of poster presentations and the opportunity to meet during lunch.

In the evening you are welcome at the UvA-BiTS dinner and a special after-dinner presentation “King of the meadows” by Sytze Pruiksma and Theunis Piersma, which you certainly should not miss!

April 20, for UvA-BiTS-users only

Workshops on Wednesday 20 April 2016 are organised for UvA-BiTS users only. They are targeted at an exchange of specific knowledge, in depth discussions, and developing hands-on practical skills.

On Friday 22 april we facilitate meetings on personal initiative. A meeting with researchers of the various gull projects is already planned. Initiatives for other subjects are welcome, including the elaboration of material covered during the workshops. And finally arrangements for personal consultation can be made.

Costs

UvA-BiTS users free. From others a contribution is asked of €50,-* (students €25,-*) for the costs of the symposium, lunch, dinner and after-dinner  presentation.
